Assistant Manager - Planning, Logistics & Warehouse (Biyagama)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize supply chain efficiency, inventory management, and distribution processes.
  • Coordinate with production teams to forecast demand and plan production schedules accordingly to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage transportation logistics including route optimization, carrier selection, and cost negotiation to ensure timely delivery of products to customers and retail locations.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and order fulfillment, to maintain accurate inventory levels and minimize stock outs.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as procurement, sales, and quality assurance to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with business objectives.
  • Lead a team of planning, logistics, and warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to drive employee engagement and productivity.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of supply chain operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies in all logistics and warehouse activities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in supply chain management to proactively identify opportunities for innovation and process optimization.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience 4 years in supply chain management, logistics, or warehouse operations, preferably in the food manufacturing or retail industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and transportation management systems (TMS) preferred.
