Assistant Procurement and Logistic Manager
East China International Limited (Overseas) is seeking qualified candidates to join our team as we expand our garment trading operations to Sri Lanka. Duties:
- Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and components.
- Collaborate with the team to understand requirements and forecast demand for materials.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong supplier relationships.
- Oversee the procurement process from purchase order issuance to delivery and payment processing.
- Coordinate with shipping partners to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment to meet production needs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization in procurement and logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
- At least 8 years’ experience in garment procurement field is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in procurement and logistics in the garment industry.
- Strong experience with fabric constructions, dye techniques, finishes, and garment construction and manufacturing/sourcing processes
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with procurement software.
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of VAT and advanced shipping & customer clearance will be highly considerable
- Less experienced candidates will be considered to be procurement supervisor
