Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL), the local chapter of the global movement against corruption, is seeking the services of young and dynamic individuals with a passion for democracy and governance related work to be a part of TISL’s Program for the Protection of Public Resources (PPPR).
Commencement of duties: immediately Duration of internship: 2 months
Scope of work: • To support TISL’s election observation efforts leading up to the Local Government elections. • To record and follow up on election complaints received by the PPPR. • Frequent travel to hotspots to monitor activities. • Support advocacy initiatives to minimize and prevent the use of public resources for election purposes.
TISL is looking for undergraduates and recent graduates with a background in law or social sciences. Candidates should have a strong command of the local languages with fluency in English.
Ability to type in Sinhala or Tamil would be an added advantage. TISL internships are not salaried. However, the interns will be provided with a reasonable travelling allowance to cover their travelling expenses and will gain experience in election observation.
